Commissioned by WWF-Malaysia, the assessment built upon the natural capital valuation of the IKI Project Landscape in Sarawak to investigate potential Payment for Ecosystem Services (PES) options in conserving the watersheds and forests in Song-Katibas and Baleh regions.
The study assessed the feasibility of the various PES schemes, considering the interests and priorities of local stakeholders; potential social, economic and political risks; and partnerships in devising an action plan to promote the implementation of the PES option mechanisms.
Project Period: 2020 – 2021
